Where I sit in restaurants can be a problem, as they tend to serve on the right side, which is my blind side, and it often makes me jump if an arm suddenly appears in front of me, so I try to find a safe corner, preferably where I can see the waiter or waitress approaching the table.
On public transport, I like to sit on the right side with my blind side to the window so I can see what is going on around me, because if I have someone sit on my right side I cannot see what they are doing and they may do something that makes me jump.
